How is an Implant Made?

Stage 1: Preparation and Anesthesia
At the beginning of the treatment, local or general anesthesia is applied. After anesthesia for the patient’s comfort, the area where the implant will be placed is cleaned and, if necessary, the tooth to be extracted is extracted. A small incision is made in the bone area where the implant will be placed and the gum is opened. The tooth is reamed using a special drill and the implant is placed and screwed. The gum is covered with the cut area and 1-2 stitches are applied to the area.
Stage 2: Integration of the Implant with the Bone
There is a waiting period of 2 to 6 months for the implant placed in the jawbone to integrate with the bone. This time is necessary for the artificial tooth to form a solid foundation.

Once the healing process of the jawbone is completed, an additional operation may be performed to place an abutment on the implant. Anesthesia is applied again for this operation. After the abutment is placed, the gum is closed again and the area is stitched. A period of 2 weeks is expected for this stage to fully heal.
Stage 4: Preparation of the Implant Crown
Once the gums are completely healed, the dentist is consulted to prepare the new implant crown. It is essential that the new tooth is not placed before the strength of the jawbone is reached. Stage 5: Attaching the Implant Crown
